Susan’s private practice focuses on child and adolescent therapy. She focuses on children and teens that are experiencing difficulties with family transitions, past trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm and addictions. She has extensive experience working with this age group and enjoys helping them through their unique struggles in order to allow them to grow into adulthood in a positive and healthy way.
Susan also works with families that are experiencing separation and divorce. She works as a Divorce Coach through the Collaborative Divorce model. This involves developing parenting plans for couples who are separating to help them through this life transition. She also works as a Child Specialist, meeting with children whose parents are separating in order to obtain their views on what they would like to see happen now that their family is changing. Working as a Child Specialist gives a voice to the children of the marriage and it helps relieve some of the stress that parents exhibit when experiencing divorce and separation. While working as a Child Specialist, Susan provides feedback to the Divorce Coaches and the parents to help provide a smoother transition into sharing custody of their children.
