About Susan J. Stapleton in Vancouver
Susan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#10817) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has experience working with adolescents in a forensic psychiatric facility and completing psychological assessments for the Court. She works primarily with adolescents and children struggling with depression, family issues, and anxiety.
Susan’s practice is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy and Trauma-Informed Practice, among other therapies.
Susan has experience treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harming behaviour, drug and alcohol abuse, anger, and trauma. Susan also helps clients develop social skills and manage difficult transitions.
Susan is trained in such areas as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mediation, Collaborative Divorce and Motivational Interviewing. She has also worked with adult offenders in the criminal justice system for many years, facilitating anger management and substance abuse programs.
